Loafing Around the Pool
Yesterday was a much deserved day of rest and relaxation with only a few more days until my flight back to the winter wonderland called Canada. Can’t say I’m not happy to leave as I am looking forward to a few days of chilling on the couch and a few pints with the neighbours but at that point there will be no pools and no more shorts until my next trip which I’m thinking will be to Curacao in March to see Canada play in Nations League .
We had breakfast at Cafe Delices and it was really good . Two eggs , beef bacon , sausages , hash browns and mushrooms made me a happy camper then we went for a stroll around the neighborhood to see whats what and found a bunch of cool grafitti and some nice bars and restaurants in walking distance of the hotel . We hit up a store and grabbed some snacks to take home with us and some fruit to have around the hotel room also .
When we got back to the room we decided to just lay around the pool and soak in the sun and go for a dip . We won’t see much sun for a few months so time to work on the tan . It sure as heck doesn’t feel like December here in Bahrain as we are used to snow and cold weather . When I get home the shorts I’m wearing will be put away for a few months and we will be wearing heavier warmer clothes . This is honestly why we booked this place after staying in a shipping container in Qatar which I am still having nightmares about . If you read people sugar coating about their stay in Qatar you can guarantee they spent more then I did and probably didn’t rough it like I did ! I’m sure some had great accommodations but we sure as shit didn’t and I know for a fact ours wasn’t even the worst of it . Anyways I’m enjoying my stay in Bahrain and those days are soon to be forgotten as I drink my cold beers by the pool here .
I’m the evening we opted to try the Mexican restaurant here at the hotel and the food was delicious . I had a beef fajita and was not disappointed with that or the accompanying margarita that I guzzled . After our meal we turned in early to chill and watch cheesy movies on the tv in our room . Need to rest up for tomorrows ice time . That’s really why I’m here !
