Cam “Punchy” Green
Cam “Punchy” Green while being a devoted player shows his true commitment to hockey as a builder. Cam is a Canadian expat now residing in New Zealand where he has gone above and beyond as a builder of a global hockey community. Cam went a decade without playing hockey after his move to New Zealand, but ice hockey remained on his mind. So Cam started his own league. With some help from his friends Cam built Hockey House which is home to two leagues: The Backyard Hockey League and The Frontyard Hockey League. He didn’t just build a league, he built a community of hockey culture in New Zealand. His league has beautiful trophies, award ceremonies and even boasts a yearly draft. The league has grown from its original 6 teams to 16. Run like a professional league Hockey House might be the coolest beer league in the world. The BHL has become so successful there are about 400 players involved, including some that represent New Zealand’s IIHF National team. If that wasn’t enough; Recently Cam started “Riding’ Pine” broadcast to continue growing the game in New Zealand. In legendary beer league fashion he even started supporting Hockey House with his own brew The Puck Bunny Pilsner and Goon Lager. “Punchy” is a beauty; one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet !
