You gots to chill.
Another day of sleeping on this rock hard bed . Everything hurts and this day we took it easy and didn’t leave the room early . We chilled out and went to the Mall of Qatar and went shopping for some Fantastic Noodles and Mirinda to fill out fridge for the remainder of our stay then we hopped on the train to make our way to the game in the afternoon .
We had to make our way to Al Janoub stadium which was not close by so we got on the train around 2 pm for a 6 pm kickoff since we were trying to get our Danish flag 🇩🇰. Unfortunately when we arrived the flags were all gone . As the days went by it was harder and harder to get flags as people were straight up hogging them . There is a selfish mentality amongst some of the supporters here and it takes away from the rest of us who would just be happy to have one flag and I can never understand why a supporter with a flag needs another of the same flag just for the sake of taking them . Honestly I saw people with flags on both wrists , around their waist and draped over their back with two hand held flags in hand . I get it they are supporters and want to express their support but really do you need 6 flags ? We just wanted one …. So we went to our seats and got comfortable behind the Australian supporters .
It was a great game and the Aussies play really smart tactical football with a tight defense that takes their opportunities when handed to them . The game was close and they kept a close eye of Danish star Christian Eriksen who had the unfortunate incident during a game in the last euros when he dropped to the ground and his heart stopped beating . Thankfully he is ok today but he is the main man on that squad . At half time it was still close and the second half you could feel something would happen and sure as heck it did ! In the 60th minute Matthew Leckie put the Aussies up front and we were sitting behind the Australian supporters section and they went nuts . What an atmosphere but after that it was clench your teeth time as the Danes just kept coming in waves as the Aussies stood their ground . In the end the underdog Australians pulled through to eliminate the Danes and go through to the next round . It was a really good 1-0 game.
This was a pretty uneventful day and after the game we opted to head to our shipping container to relax and call it a night . We didn’t even watch the 10 pm game cause we were so tired .
